Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta’s column: If there is war, it should be only for the protection of religion.

Looking at the war scenes going on at this time, one of Kabir’s lines comes to mind – The ant took the rice and got the dal in between, Kabir says, if you don’t get one, take the other one. An ant was carrying a grain of rice. When I found pulses on the way, I thought of taking the pulses with me. But if you already have rice, how will you keep the pulses? One also went in an attempt to take both. If you don’t get two, take one – this is the message Kabir wants to give. Let us understand this today. The war started without thinking, out of desire for self-interest and out of ego. Then it got complicated. Now looking for a mediator. Then such a situation arose that a lame person climbed on the blind man’s shoulder. Whatever the warriors do in the war, if the situation of arbitration arises then at least choose the right one. Only three people mediated – Hanuman, Angad and Krishna. Ravana was in front, Duryodhana was in front. And all three of them understood one thing – war should be the last option. But if there is a war, it should be only for the protection of religion.
