Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta
These days, after getting their children married, parents are worried about whether the marriage will be successful or not. Earlier, prayers were made to God that the marriage should be completed well. But now the parents pray to God that the marriage of their children goes well. There is fear in the mind, I don’t know when the news of breaking of relationship will come. Among all the traditions whose form changed in our family life, marriage is also there.
Earlier, pure Vedic marriage took place with the consent of society and family. This is called arranged marriage. Then, to enjoy the pleasures but not have to bear long responsibilities, live-in relationship came into existence. People could not understand love marriage. There is a difference between romance and love marriage. As romance turns into marriage, many bitter truths of life come to light. And it is not necessary that it becomes successful. The new generation should understand and accept marriage properly, otherwise this guardian of family traditions will automatically die.
