Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta
Now is the time to escape from this fast-paced world. It is also certain that if you do not run, you will be marginalized. So do some practice of stopping. Yoga and the seventh stage of Yoga, ‘Meditation’ will be very useful in that.
If we want to reverse the effects of stress and depression genes within us, then meditation is very useful. This leaves a molecular signature on our cells, which relieves us from stress. We forget that one day we will reach nowhere while running.
Tulsidas has written at one place in the context of Garuda and Kakabhushundi – Naukarudh chalat jag dekha, achal moha bas apuhi lekha. A man sitting on a boat sees the world moving and out of illusion considers himself immovable.
This misunderstanding can be removed. Let us remain still for a while. If we do short meditation two-three times a day, we will be able to attain peace by pausing for a while in this fast-paced world.
