Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta’s column: Yoga is capable of turning loneliness into solitude.

Loneliness and fear of the future are troubling the youth in the corporate world and the elders in the family. This is reflected on the faces of those who have earned a lot of happiness and wealth in the world of jobs and business. And such loneliness descended upon the lives of the elders in the family that old age began to seem like a severe pain. In the language of worldliness there is a word ‘social capital’. Understand it this way, when people meet each other, trust each other, spend time together, then that invisible power is called social capital. There is continuous development in many areas in the country, but the social capital is slowly disappearing – knowledgeable people have started accepting this. So, if the problem of loss of social capital is visible in our lives, then we will have to find a solution. The practical solution is to increase communication. Take positive interest in others. Take up some creative work and get involved in it. And the spiritual cure is to transform your loneliness into solitude, and this will be done through yoga.
