5 ways to save the earth, which are in your hands

1. ‘Adopt’ trees: Take care of the trees around you and plant new trees every year.

2. Stay away from plastic: This way micro plastic will be prevented from entering your food chain.

3. Take the initiative of food bank: deliver extra food to the needy, stop wastage of food.

4. Adopt solar energy: Solar energy causes 90% less pollution than fossil fuels.

5. Install low-flow tap: If every family adopts this, it can save 20 liters of water every day.

30 thousand hectares of forest destroyed every day

Every day around 25,000 to 30,000 hectares of forest area is destroyed in the world. That means approximately 4.1 crore trees are cut every day. Due to this the earth is becoming barren.

Therefore CO2 is increasing in the atmosphere. The average temperature of the earth and incidents of severe floods are increasing.

Plastic is also going into our stomachs

The equivalent of about 2,100 truckloads of plastic is dumped into the oceans every day. This is 11 million tonnes annually. It is destroying marine life.

Humans are consuming 4.1 micro grams of plastic every week. Due to this the risk of diseases like cancer is increasing.

1 billion tons of food is being wasted

The world is wasting more than 1 billion tons of food annually. Every day around 25-30 lakh tonnes of food is going into waste. This is misuse of the earth’s bounty.

Crores of people are sleeping hungry. The ‘methane gas’ produced from this waste is increasing the earth’s temperature.

100 million tons of carbon storage every day

On average, more than 100 million tons of CO2 is released into the atmosphere every day due to human activities. Due to this the earth’s ozone layer is being destroyed.

That’s why the glaciers are melting. Sea levels are rising. Destructive heat waves are going on.

345 billion liters of water is flowing daily

Every year 126 billion cubic meters of clean water is wasted in the world. That means we are wasting approximately 345 billion liters of clean water every day.

25% of the world’s population is struggling with ‘water stress’ and many big cities are moving towards ‘Day Zero’.
