Scholars say that on this day Maharaja Agrasen, the patriarch of the Agrawal community, had taken a pledge to perform a Yagya, which continued for 17 days. On the 18th day he took an oath that animal sacrifice would not be performed and from today onwards his dynasty would accept Vaishya religion instead of Kshatriya. This date will come on 12th May. He had said that now my dynasty will do commerce, agriculture and cow service – considering it as service. This is still happening till today. Cow Respect Day is being celebrated on 27th April. If cow is given the status of the mother of the nation, it has only one meaning that people will have to understand that nature is the representative of God and mother cow is the living representative of nature. One of the good things that will happen in human life by saving cows is that peace will descend. Take a pledge on 27th April – We will protect cows so that humans can be protected.
