Pt. Vijayshankar Mehta
Every human being is jealous somewhere inside. Jealousy starts with comparison. The word comparison is derived from weighing. When we place ourselves on one side of the scale and measure others on the other side, this is called comparison. So when comparison comes in life, compare with curiosity.
Trying to find out why if we are behind, what good can we get from this comparison? And if we fall into jealousy then think again. Nothing will happen to the person towards whom we are jealous, but our loss is that cortisol and adrenaline, these two hormones increase due to jealousy. Irritability, restlessness, sadness etc. within us become the result of jealousy.
If jealousy and comparison are within us then they should be used with caution. Whatever person you feel jealous of, try to appreciate him. Find the points where we can praise him. Keep in mind those things where we can learn something from him. So these two things can also be beneficial for us.
