Everyone says to be patient, but when the opportunity comes, patience is lost. Then there are some activities, which if you do regularly, will automatically give birth to patience. One of them is rituals. Recently, when I was doing Katha in Kolkata, I saw well educated hi-tech people performing rituals there. For seven days he would perform rituals for three hours every day and then listen to the story. So I asked, what do you people, who are logical, get if they perform rituals for so long? Most of the people said a very good thing that a patience is being born within us. They said that we get immersed in a different world. Pandit ji makes one chant mantras and performs rituals. At first it seemed like a superstition but when I did it, I realized that it is a way of connecting with nature. The tension is decreasing. Meditation also helps. We become more creative. The body also gets the drill of discipline. So why not perform rituals and keep yourself sattvik active.
